Eva Goulbourne, CEO and Lead Instructor
Eva is a food systems strategist with 15+ years of global expertise across the foodservice, retail/CPG, and food philanthropy sectors. She was employee #1 of ReFED, responsible for securing the initial funding that helped it become the leading authority on food waste reduction it is today. Now, Eva helps both nonprofit and philanthropy clients design impactful funding strategies to address the climate crisis through food systems transformation. She is a member of the National Network of Consultants to Grantmakers.

All students will be asked to schedule a 1-1 session with Eva Goulbourne in which they can invite their leadership team to engage in a discussion around what they are learning, how the lessons will be applied, what is needed, and what is needed to secure climate funding for their organization.

Although the course content focuses on securing grant funding, which is often limited to nonprofit organizations, the curriculum will certainly apply to any food organization seeking to go after climate funding. This includes but is not limited to start-ups, media groups, and trade associations.

Participants can join a private LinkedIn group for course participants, providing a platform for ongoing networking and collaboration with like-minded peers, nonprofit professionals, and industry leaders beyond the course duration. Students will also receive a directory with all student’s contact information to foster continued collaboration.

While our inaugural cohort had 45 students, we are going to cap the next cohort at 25. We would like to provide an intimate, in-depth experience for all participants.

The Welcome and Orientation will be August 28, and the live office hour sessions will be held September 4-October 2, 2024. You will also receive a link to schedule a 1-1 session with Eva during these 5 weeks to survey your tools, strategize how to elevate programs, fundraising, and communications, and to ultimately secure climate funding.

Each recorded lesson is one hour. These sessions and their accompanying action items are to be completed before the live office hours, which will be one hour every Wednesday at 1-2 PM ET/10-11 AM PT.
